| abstract |
PURPOSE:To produce the titled compound useful as a raw material of insecticide, by subjecting a specific compound to asymmetric hydrolysis with a specific microorganism. CONSTITUTION:2,2-Dimethyl-3(2,2-dichlorovinyl)cyclopropane carboxylic acid ester expressed by formula I (R is alkyl group which may be substituted by 1-4C halogen atom) is subjected to asymmetric hydrolysis using Arthrobacter globiformis (IFO-12958) and Thermomyces lanuginosus (IFO-9863). As a result, the above-mentioned carboxylic acid ester is decomposed to the aimed (+)- trans-(1R, 3R)-2,2-dimethyl-3(2,2-dichlorovinyl)cyclopropane carboxylic acid and ester of diastereomer thereof and the former is separated and recovered. |
