titleOfInvention Composition for agent for subjecting liquid crystal display cell to orientation treatment
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title compsn. having improved wettability to a glass substrate and a transparent electrode by constituting the compsn. of a specified polyimide resin precursor and an aprotic org. solvent. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. consists of 0.5-40wt.% polyimide resin precursor having recurrent units expressed practically by formula I, and 99.5-60wt.% aprotic polar org. solvent. In formula, R<1> is an org. group constituting a tetracarboxylic acid or its deriv. contg. an alicyclic structure; R<2> is an org. group constituting a diamine contg. an alicyclic structure; R<3> is H atom. or 1-4C alkyl group. By this constitution, the compsn. is imparted with satisfactory wettability to a transparent electrode and to several substrates, generating no crawling, etc. on the substrate in a coating stage. Thus, uniform coating film is formed without causing pinholes nor uneven thickness.
