titleOfInvention Thermal recording material
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material having high sensitivity and high color forming start temp. and reduced in background fog at a high temp. and high humidity time, by providing a thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye, a specific coupler and a sensitizer to a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color forming layer based on a leuco dye, a coupler and a sensitizer is provided on a support and, as the coupler, methyphenyl- methylidene bisphenol is used and, as the sensitizer, a heat-meltable substance having m.p. of 80 deg.C or more is used. The m.p. of this coupler is as high as 189 deg.C and the viscosity thereof at a melting time is low and the water-solubility thereof is also low. As the sensitizer, for example, tribenzylamine, 1, 2-di(3- methylphenyloxy)ethylene, dibenzylterephthalate, benzyl-beta-naphthyl ether, 1,4- dibenzyloxynaphthalene, p-benzylbiphenyl, m-terphenyl and hydroxynaphthoenic ester are used, but a heat-meltable substance having m.p. of below 80 deg.C can not be used since color forming start temp. is lowered.
