titleOfInvention Composition for generating chlorine dioxide gas
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition capable of continuously and stably generating chlorine dioxide gas at a constant rate, by combining a chlorous acid metal salt, a reaction agent reacting with the salt and generating chlorine dioxide gas, e.g. trichloroisocyanuric acid, and a diluent such as diatomaceous earth. n CONSTITUTION: The titled composition having chemical and physical stability and capable of controlling the generation of the gas over a specific period is composed of (A) 0.1W90wt.% chlorous acid metal salt (e.g. alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt), (B) 0.1W90wt.% reaction agent reacting with the component A to generate chlorine dioxide gas (e.g. tri- and dichloroisocyanuric acid or their alkali metal salt) and (C) 0.1W95wt.% diluent (e.g. diatomaceous earth, calcium silicate, aluminosilicate, perlite or zeolite). The amount and rate of generation of chlorine dioxide gas can be adjusted by properly selecting the weight ratios of the above components. Each of the components may be powder. The composition is useful as an oxidizing agent, bleaching agent, sterilizing agent, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
