titleOfInvention Treating agent for wet spray booth circulating water
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title treating agent which is used to prevent the portion of a coating compsn. not used for coating and collected in water from adhering and solidifying in a coating system and has excellent storage stability and which comprises as main component an acid colloid soln. of a copolymer composed of urea, melamine and an aldehyde or its precondensate. n CONSTITUTION: The title treating agent comprising as a main component an acid colloid soln. of at least one compd. selected from the group consisting of a copolymer (A) composed of urea, melamine and an aldehyde, a precendensate (B) of copolymer (A), an alkyl etherified copolymer (C) prepd. by alkyl etherifying a bonded methylol group of copolymer (A) and a precendensate (D) of copolymer (C). This agent has markedly improved storage stability as compared to that of an acid colloid of resin composed of melamine and an aldehyde which does not contain urea. The scum of the coating compsn. is rendered completely non-adherent in a circulating water in a wet spray booth which contains a portion of a coating compsn. not used for coating, thereby increasing the usage value of the water as a circulating water in wet spray booth and simultaneously facilitating the discharge of to scum rendered non-adherent. Therefore, advantageous effects are exhibited in the maintenance of coating facilities, increase in the operation rate, improvement in the working environment and securing of safety. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
