abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a soft capsule composed of a content obtained by dissolving nicardipine hydrochloride in a specific mixed solvent and a capsule skin containing opacifying agent, etc., capable of stably keeping said drug over a long period and allowing the drug to be easily absorbed to develop sufficient effect when administered into a body. n CONSTITUTION: The objective soft capsule is composed of (A) a content produced by dissolving nicardipine hydrochloride in a mixed solvent consisting of a polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight of 200W600 (preferably polyethylene glycol 400) and an alkylene glycol (preferably propylene glycol) at a weight ratio of 100:(10W25) and (B) a capsule skin containing an opacifying agent (e.g. titanium oxide or red iron oxide) and/or an ultraviolet absorber having absorption band in visible light range (e.g. Red No.2 or Yellow No.4). The concentration of nicardipine hydrochloride in the content (A) is preferably 2W10wt.%. The drug effect can be quickly exhibited by administering the soft capsule as a sublingual capsule and the capsule can be used as a remedy for stenocardia to which quick effect is required. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
