abstract | PURPOSE: To get a large quantity of root of a plant belonging Bupleurum genus, in a short time in high efficiency, by transplanting the root of a plant of Bupleurum genus in a medium containing a plant growth regulating substance such as indoleacetic acid and α-naphthaleneacetic acid and culturing the root in the medium. n CONSTITUTION: Root of a plant belonging to Bupleurum genus is transplanted and cultured in a medium prepared by adding at least one plant growth regulating substance selected from indoleacetic acid, α-naphthaleneacetic acid and indolebutyric acid or a medium added with at least one plant growth regulating substance selected from indoleacetic acid, α-naphthaleneacetic acid and indolebutyric acid and with at least one plant growth regulating substance selected from kinetin, zeatin, dihydrozeatin, benzyladenine and isopentenyladenine.
