titleOfInvention Culture of anchorage dependent animal cell
abstract PURPOSE: To facilitate dispersion of cells after culture, by including an anchorage dependent animal cell in a particle of calcium alginate gel, starting the culture of the cell in the particle in a serum-containing culture liquid and finally supplying serum-free culture liquid. n CONSTITUTION: An anchorage dependent animal cell is included in a calcium alginate gel particle and the culture of the cell is started by putting the particle in a culture liquid containing serum. Finally, a serum-free culture liquid is supplied to the culture system to enable the culture of anchorage dependent animal cell. Any animal cell may be used in the above process provided that the cell is anchorage dependent and especially cells proliferative under the culture condition are preferable. The average particle diameter of the calcium alginate particle including the animal cell is preferably about 0.8W4mm. The concentration of the calcium alginate forming the gel is preferably about 0.5W20wt.%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
