abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the irritation to the skin, by preparing a proteinaceous emulsifier wherein the carboxyl terminal group of a specific gelatin hydrolysate is bonded to the amino group of ester of alanine and aliphatic alcohol through an amide bond. CONSTITUTION:The carboxyl terminal group of a gelatin hydrolysate wherein an imino group is substituted with 2,4-bis(O-methoxy-polyethylene glycol)-8- triadin-6-yl is bonded to an amino group of ester of alanine and aliphatic alcohol through an amide bond to prepare a proteinaceous emulsifier. This emulsifier is odorless and has the reduced irritation to the skin, strong emulsifying capacity and a moisture holding property. Further, the solubility thereof not only to an org. solvent such as ethanol or acetone but also to water is enhanced.
