titleOfInvention | Phenylhydrazone derivative of 2-oxazoline-4,5-dione |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R 1 represents straight chain 2W10C alkyl or branched chain 3W10C alkyl, etc.; R 2 represents H, F, etc.). n EXAMPLE: 4-[3-(Butoxymethyl)phenylhydrazone] derivative of 2-(2-fluorophenyl)2- oxazoline-4,5-dione. n USE: An intermediate for producing a phenylhydrazone derivative of an oxamide useful as a herbicide. n PREPARATION: First, a nitrobenzene chloride expressed by formula II as a starting material is reacted and etherified with a compound expressed by the formula R 1 OH in the presence of a hydrogen chloride-trapping agent, such as KOH, preferably at -10W150°C. Then the obtained compound expressed by formula III is successively reduced and azotized to afford a diazo compound expressed by formula IV. Consequently, the compound is subjected to diazo- coupling reaction with a 2-oxazolin-5-one derivative expressed by formula V preferably at -50W100°C. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
