titleOfInvention | Gonatriene derivative and production thereof |
abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R is 1W3C alkyl; X is -SOR 1 (R 1 is 1W3C alkyl) or SCN]. n EXAMPLE: 13-Ethyl-hydroxy-17-methylthiomethyl-gona-4,9,11,-trien-3-one. n USE: A remedy for endometriosis capable of suppressing production and release of pituitary gonadotropin [follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH)]. n PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with ethylene glycol, etc., under acidic condition to form an intermediate product expressed by formula III (Y is ethylene, trimethylene, etc.), which is then reacted with dimethylsulfonium methylide, etc., to provide an intermediate product expressed by formula IV. The resultant intermediate product expressed by formula IV is reacted with metal alkyl sulfide to form an intermediate product expressed by formula V (X' is SR 1 ), which is then treated with an acid to eliminate the protecting group of the acetal at the 3-position and give an intermediate product expressed by formula VI. The resultant intermediate product expressed by formula VI is then reacted with an oxidizing agent to oxidize the alkyl sulfide into an alkyl sulfoxide. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
