abstract | PURPOSE: To produce the title structure having an excellent rodent repellent effect, by mixing a thermoplastics with microencapsulated cycloheximide and molding the mixture into a desired shape. n CONSTITUTION: Cycloheximide dissolved or dispersed in a solvent is encapsulated with a microencapsulating shell material such as a synthetic resin (e.g., a melamine resin) to obtain microencapsulated cycloheximide having an encapsulated cycloheximide content of 0.7W20wt.% and an average particle size of 1W80μm. A thermoplastics (e.g., PVC) is mixed with at least 0.05wt.% microencapsulated cycloheximide and optionally, additives such as an inorg. filler, a stabilizer, an antioxidant, etc., at 50W210°C to obtain a rodent repellent thermoplastics compsn.
