abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (A is H or 2-10C hydrocarbon acyl which may be substituted by amino group; B is Phe, Gly, Phe-Gly, Gly-Gly or Phe-Gly-Gly; C is neutral alpha-amino acid residue; E is Gln, Gln-Ser or Gln-Ser-Gly). EXAMPLE:A compound expressed by formula II. USE:A reagent for solving pathopsychological part of atrial sodium diuretic peptide (alpha-hANP) and remedy for hypotension, peripheral circulation insufficiency, etc., mammal having alpha-hANP antagonism and exhibiting strong poressor action. PREPARATION:The compound is for example, obtained by subjecting a peptide expressed by formula III to oxidation treatment in a solvent such as water, etc., using an oxidizing agent (e.g. air, potassium ferricyanide, etc.) normally at 0-45 deg.C and PH 6-7.5 for 5min-10hr. The treatment is preferably carried out by the highly dilution method.
