abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an impact-resistant resin compsn. having excellent resistance to heat and weather, by blending a polyamide resin with a polyoctenylene resin. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. is obtd. by blending 1-100pts.wt. polyamide resin with 100pts.wt. polyoctenylene resin. The polyoctenylene resin can be prepd. by polymerizing cyclooctenylene and must have one double bond per 8 carbon atoms and an MW of at least 10,000. Pref. the resin has a trans unit content of at least 50%, a crystallinity index of at least 10%, an m.p. of 50-60 deg.C and a glass transition point of -75--30 deg.C. When the amount of the polyamide resin is less than 1pt.wt., en effect of adding the polyamide can not be obtd., while when the amount is more than 100pts.wt., impact resistance can not be improved.
