titleOfInvention Production of 4-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-2-aminobutane
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a compound useful as a raw material for dobutamine hydrochloride which is a cardiotonicum in short process and high yield without discharging a substance which causes pollution, by hydrogenating 4-(4'- hydroxyphenyl)-3-butene-2-onoxime. n CONSTITUTION: 4-(4'-Hydroxyphenyl)-3-butene-2-onoxime is dissolved in an organic solvent such as methanol and reduced with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst (e.g. Pd or Pt) to provide the aimed compound. The reaction is carried out in atmospheric pressure or higher, preferably in atmospheric pressure W 60atm. pressure. The catalyst is used in an amount of 0.5W30wt.%, preferably 1W10wt.% based on the oxime. The oxime which is a starting material is a precursor of 4-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone and synthesized from the reaction of 4-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone with hydroxylamine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
