| abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled drug effective in promoting transcutaneous absorption of a medicine, having high safety and giving agreeable feeling to skin, by using an N-substituted lactam including novel compounds as an absorbefacient. n CONSTITUTION: An N-substituted lactam of formula I (m is 2W4; n is 3W5) such as an N-substituted lactam of formula II (p=m; q is 4 or 5) [e.g. 1-(3,7- dimethyloctyl)azacycloheptan-2-one which is a novel compound] is used as an absorbefacient. The objective drug can be prepared by compounding the compound of formula I with a medicine. The amount of the medicine is about 0.01W20wt.% based on the compound of formula I. The transcutaneous absorbefacient effect of the compound of formula I is remarkably developed especially for a medicine having moderate fat-solubility as well as water-solubility.
