titleOfInvention | Production of d-alpha-amino acid |
abstract | PURPOSE: To continuously obtain the titled compound in high yield and improved rate of reaction and stability of enzyme, by circulating and continuously contacting an ultrafiltration product of a microorganism of Hansenula genus to specific 5-substituted hydantoins. n CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of 5-substituted hydantoins of formula I [R is (substituted) alkyl or (substituted) phenyl] (e.g. DL-5-isopropylhydantoin) is transferred from a substrate storage tank 2 to a reactor 1 with a pump 5 and added with a cultured liquid, microbial cells or treated cell of a microbial strain belonging to Hansenula genus [e.g. Hansenula polymorpha (NRRL Y-2423)]. The reaction mixture is passed through an ultrafiltration apparatus 3 to recycle the microbial cells or treated cell and the filtrate is introduced into a reaction liquid storage tank 4 to recover the reaction product. The objective compound of the formula II can be continuously produced by this process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
