titleOfInvention Optical recording medium
abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a high-sensitivity, nontoxic and stable optical recording medium capable of being produced through a simple coating process and capable of recording with a small-type semiconductor laser, by providing a recording layer in which a magnesium-phthalocyanine associate having a specified maximum absorption wavelength is dispersed in a polymer matrix. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording medium is produced by providing on a substrate 2 a thin film 1 in which a phthalocyanine associate having a maximum absorption wavelength of 800-850nm is dispersed in a polymer matrix. The thin film can be easily provided by applying a solution containing magnesium- phthalocyanine and a polymer to the substrate. The polymer may suitably be polymethyl (meth)acrylate, a styrene polymer, polyvinyl chloride or the like. A solvent to be used may be any one capable of dissolving both magnesium- phthalocyanine and the polymer, and may suitably be a halogen-containing solvent such as chloroform. The coat film thus obtained is treated with a halogen-containing solvent, for conversion into the phthalocyanine associate having a maximum absorption wavelength (lambdamax) of 800-850nm.
