titleOfInvention Cyclopentanetriol derivative and production thereof
abstract NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R is azido, amino or protected amino; R 1 and R 2 are H or OH-protecting group; R 3 is H, OH-protecting group or eliminable group). n EXAMPLE: 4β -Azido-3α-hydroxy-2β -t-butyldimethylsiloxycyclopentane-1β-methyl benzyl ether. n USE: A synthetic intermediate for physiologically active substance. n PREPARATION: The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a novel epoxycyclopentane derivative of formula II (R 4 and R 5 are OH-protecting group) with an azo compound (e.g. sodium azide) or a nitrile in a solvent (e.g. water, alcohol, etc.) at ≥100°C. The compound of formula II is obtained by oxidizing the unsaturated group of the known compound of formula III with a percarboxylic acid. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
