abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a disinfectant for seeds bringing increase in yield of various crops such as rice plant, wheat, vegetables, etc., comprising a mixture of an imidazole compound and any one of procymidon, iprodione and vinclozolin as an active ingredient. n CONSTITUTION: A disinfectant for seeds comprising a mixture of a single imidazole compound {e.g. N-[1-propyl(2-butenyloxycarbonyl)methyl]-N-[(furan-2- yl)methyl]carbamoylimidazole, etc.} shown by formula I (R 1 is lower alkyl; R 2 is alkenyl) and any of procymidon shown by formula II, iprodione shown by formula III and vinclozolin shown by formula IV as an active ingredient. The disinfectant for seeds is effective for sterilizing especially seed rice of rice plants, shows excellent controlling effects on bakane diseases and helminthosporium lead spot of rice plant and exhibits improved sterilizing effects on seed of bakane disease of rice plant having resistance to agents such as benomyl, thiophanatemethyl, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
