abstract PURPOSE: To improve the durability of storage thin film in an optical disc capable of recording and reproducing information optically and to improve reliability for a long time by constructing a thermoplastic resin substrate of a compsn. expressed by the specified formula. n CONSTITUTION: 10W45wt.% bisphenol A polycarbonate terminal groups protected with salicylic ester is mixed with polycarbonate, and a transparent thermoplastic resin substrate to be used as a storage film carrier of an optical disc is prepd. from the mixture. In this case, a compsn. expressed by the formula is mixed in a specified proportion. By protecting the terminal groups of polycarbonate with a phenol having ester group (e.g. salicylic ester) as a molecular weight adjusting agent, introduction of carbonyl groups is possible without impairing the original heat resistance, low water absorption, optical characteristics, and material cost of bisphenol A polycarbonate. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
