abstract PURPOSE: A shampoo composition, containing an anionic surfactant, ampholytic surfactant and cationic cellulose, capable of finishing the hair to a state of improved feeling even by washing the hair every day with hardly any irritancy to the skin or ocular mucous membranes. n CONSTITUTION: A shampoo composition containing 2W40wt% anionic surfactant expressed by formula I (R 1 is alkyl; R 2 is H or CH 3 ; AO is oxyalkylene; n is 0W20; M 1 and M 2 are H, alkali metal, ammonium ion, etc.), 2W40wt% ampholytic surfactant expressed by formula II (R 3 is alkyl; R 4 and R 5 are CH 3 or C 2 H 5 ; m is 2 or 3) and 0.1W5wt% cationic cellulose.
