titleOfInvention Measurement of softening point distribution for heat softening substance
abstract PURPOSE: To enable detailed measurement of a softening point distribution, by a method wherein a fixed amount of a mixture of a heat softening substance with a specified particle size and a thermally stabilizing substance with the particle size the same as that thereof is heated and values of changes in the measured volume is corrected to differentiate. n CONSTITUTION: A heat softening substance A with a fixed range of particle size below 40 mesh and a substance B stable to heat with the particle size the same as that thereof is mixed evenly so that the volume ratio meet the requirement of B/A=0W1 and placed into a cylindrical container 1. The atmosphere in the container 1 is replaced with a nitrogen gas and the mixture is heated at a fixed temperature rising rate under a fixed pressure through a temperature control section 8. Changes in the volume of a sample are detected with a displacement measuring section 7 within a softening temperature range of the substance A. A detection data signal is inputted into a CPU via a DC amplifier and an A/D converter. The CPU corrects measured values to determine a softening point distribution by differentiation. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
