abstract | PURPOSE: To remove effect of hemolysis, by having a reagent layer containing a catalase activity blocking agent within a range of addition. n CONSTITUTION: A multi-layer analysis element is provided with a reagent layer containing a reactive composition that generates a detectable substance with the action of hydrogen peroxide on a non-water permeable and light transmitting support and a porous development layer on the reagent layer. In a multi-layer analysis element thus arranged, a catalase activity blocking agent is contained in the reagent layer at the density of 1×10 -2 mol./m 2 1×10 -4 mol./m 2 . This method, employing the blocking agent in the reagent layer, makes the mixture of the agent uniform distribution thereof in a larger area as well.
