abstract PURPOSE: To obtain resin spheres useful for ball bearings, etc., without finish processing, by weighing a melt containing an added catalyst and a melt containing an added initiator to a molten lactam in equal amounts and dripping the resultant melts through a blending and discharging device into a heating medium of a specified specific gravity. n CONSTITUTION: A catalyst, e.g. ethylmagnesium bromide, etc., is added to a lactam melted so as to attain anionic polymerization which is resinification reaction of nylon 6, e.g. ε-caprolactam, etc., and the resultant melt is stored in a tank (A). A melt prepared by adding an initiator, e.g. N-acetyl ε- caprolactam, etc., to a molten lactam is stored in a tank (B). Both melts are then dripped through a blending and injecting device 3 for weighing the melts, blending and discharging the blend into a heating medium oil 7 consisting of a silicone oil having a somewhat lower specific gravity than that of the blended melt while stirring to afford the aimed resin spheres 12. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
