titleOfInvention Reverse transcriptase inhibitor
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled inhibitor, containing pyrroloquinolinequinone (PQQ) or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient and effective in preventing and/or treating various diseases caused by particularly retroviruses. n CONSTITUTION: A reverse transcriptase inhibitor obtained by containing a pyrroloquinolinequinone (PQQ) expressed by the formula (R 1 , R 2 and R 3 are H, alkyl, alkali metal or 1/2 alkaline earth metal) or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient. Although there are oxidized form PQQ which is a quinone derivative and reduced form PQQ which is a quinol derivative, both can be freely used and are effective. The PQQ as a raw material is obtained by either one of fermentative production by a microorganism e.g. Escherichia coil, etc., and organic chemical synthesis, extremely readily soluble in water with particularly improved preservation stability at pH 4W8 and can be freely administered in the form of solid or solution. The dose thereof is 0.1W300mg/kg/day and administered once W in 4 divided portions. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
