abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition outstanding in flame-retardancy, heat resistance, etc., without impairing mechanical properties, and suitable for exterior members used in light electrical appliances and office machines, by incorporating a rubber-modified styrene resin or its blend with styrene resin in specified amount of specific bromine-based compound, etc. n CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100pts.wt. of a rubber-modified styrene resin or its blend with a styrene resin with a heat distortion temperature ≥75°C with (B) 1W45(pref., 2W30)pts.wt. of a bromine-based compound with a bromine content ≥40wt.% and melting point ≥80°C (e.g., decabromodiphenyl oxide), (C) 0.5W15pts.wt. of antimony trioxide, and (D) 1W30(pref. 5W25)pts.wt. of glass fiber having a diameter 1W20μ and fiber length 0.3W10mm.
