titleOfInvention | Production of hydrophilic polyurethane foam |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the title foam which has excellent water absorbing proper ties, water permeability and tensile strength after water absorption and is suit able for use in the fields of hydroponic culture, toy, etc., by blending a specified polyol with a polyisocyanate, a blowing agent, a foam stabilizer, a trioxyethylenedimethylamine catalyst and epoxidized soybean oil and heating the mixture. n CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyol (A) having an average MW of 1,500W7,000, a weight ratio of ethylene oxide to propylene oxide of 10/90W70/30 and an average number of functional groups of 2W3.5 is blended with 0.01W5.0pts.wt. trioxyethylenedimethylamine (B) as a catalyst, 0.01W2wt.% (based on the amount of component B) epoxidized soybean oil (C) as an additive, a blowing agent (D) (e.g., trichloromonofluoromethane) and a foam stabilizer (E) (e.g., silicone foam stabilizer). A polyisocyanate (F) (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) is added there to and the mixture is expanded. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio |
