titleOfInvention Olefin polymerization catalyst
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an olefin polymerization catalyst which is highly active and provides highly stereoregular polymers in orderly shape, by combining a specified solid catalyst ingredient, a di- or tetra-substituted piperidine derivative and an organoaluminum compound. n CONSTITUTION: 1pt.wt. crushed mixture of magnesium chloride and calcium carbonate is mixed with at most 2pts.wt. tetraalkoxytitanium, an aliphatic hydrocarbon which is liquid at -30W50°C, and alcohol. The resulting solution is added dropwise to titanium tetrachloride at 0°C or lower, to which a phthalic acid diester is added at 80°C or higher, and the mixture is reacted at 100°C or higher. Then, the solid product is separated and caused to react with fresh titanium tetrachloride. The resulting solid catalyst ingredient is combined with a di- or tetra-substituted piperidine derivative of the formula, where R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each H, alkyl, etc. (e.g., 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine) and an organoaluminum compound (e.g., triethylaluminum) to obtain the title polymerization catalyst. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1988,JPO&Japio
