abstract | PURPOSE: To improve the dispersibility of magnetic powder in a magnetic coating liquid and to improve the electromagnetic conversion characteristic and durability of the titled medium by incorporating an active group such as hydroxyl group or carboxyl group into a vinylidene chloride copolymer to be used as a binder. n CONSTITUTION: This recording medium has a magnetic layer formed by coating the magnetic coating liquid contg. the ferromagnetic powder and binder on a nonmagnetic substrate. The vinylidene chloride copolymer consisting of 55W95wt% vinylidene chloride, 5W45wt% acrylonitrile, 1W12wt% acrylic acid and 1W20wt% hydroxyalkylacrylate is used as the binder.
