abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound useful as an intermediate raw material for various organic chemicals in high yield by a simple means, by reacting amylbenzene with phthalic anhydride in the presence of AlCl 3 using a mixed solvent containing benzene as a reaction solvent. n CONSTITUTION: One mol amylbenzene is reacted with preferably 1.0W1.2mol phthalic anhydride in the presence of preferably 2.0W2.2mol, based on 1mol amylbenzene, AlCl 3 in a mixed solvent containing benzene in a reaction medium, e.g. 1,2-dichlorobenzene or nitrobenzene, at 0W60°C for 2W12hr by the Friedel-Crafts reaction to afford the aimed compound. The amount of the benzene to be added is preferably 0.3W3mol based on 1mol tert-amylbenzene. n EFFECT: The transalkylation and dealkylation of tert-amylbenzene can be suppressed. n USE: A raw material for 2-amylanthraquinone used for producing particularly H 2 O 2 , etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
