abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the title material capable of activating a development and reducing sharply an absorption of light at a long wavelength range to null, and forming an image having an excellent hue and stability by dispersing a specific magenta coupler together with a high boiling point org. solvent having a specific permittivity and viscosity to an emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:The title material is obtd. by dispersing one or more kinds of the magenta coupler shown by formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each a hydrogen atom or a substituent, X is a hydrogen atom or a group capable of releasing with a coupling reaction of an oxidant of an aromatic primary amine developing agent, R<1>, R<2> or X may form a polymer contg. >=2 monomers, at least one of R<1> and R<2> is a group capable of binding to a pyrazoloazole ring through a secondary or a tertiary carbon atom, and at least one of R<1> and R<2> group are a group having one or more of -NHSO2- groups, when R<1> is binded to the pyrazoloazole ring through the tertiary carbon atom or R<2> is binded to said ring through the secondary carbon atom, R<2> is not a substd. aralkyl group) together with one or more of the high boiling point solvents having >=4.00 the permittivity and >=20cp the viscosity and shown by formulas II-V wherein R<3>-R<5> are each a (unsubtd.) substd. alkyl or alkenyl group, R<6> is R<3> or -OR<3>, etc., (n) is 1-5, to the emulsion layer on a substrate.
