titleOfInvention Synthesis of phosphonium compound
abstract PURPOSE: The reaction between a phosphonium compound and an aromatic carboxylic acid in the presence of an alkali gives the titled compound which is used as an epoxy resin curing agent, curing accelerator, flame retarder, phase- transfer catalyst and an intermediate of medicines and agricultural chemicals. n CONSTITUTION: The reaction between (A) a phosphonium of formula I (R 1 WR 4 are alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, benzyl; X is halogen) and (B) an aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid of Y-COOH [Y is 7W17C alkyl or benzene nucleus which may be substituted with halogen, alkyl, amino, nitro, hydroxyl or nitrile] is carried out at a molar ratio of 1:1 or more in the presence of an alkali to give the objective compound of formula II. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
