abstract PURPOSE: To provide the title molding having excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability, by molding a thermoplastic resin mainly composed of an arom. vinyl/unsaturated carboxylic acid imide copolymer. n CONSTITUTION: A copolymer of an arom. vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) with an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid anhydride (e.g., maleic anhydride) and a maleimide monomer are imidated at 80W350°C to obtain a coplymer (A) contg. 35W80wt% residue of the arom. vinyl monomer and 65W20wt% residue of the unsaturated dicarboxylic acid imide derivative. 90W30pts.wt. monomer mix ture of 40W85wt% arom vinyl monomer, 15W40wt% vinyl cyanide monomer (e.g., acrylonitride) and 0W40wt% other copolymerizable monomer (e.g., methyl methacrylatel) is graft - polymerized in the presence of 10W70pts.wt. rubbery polymer (e.g., polybutadiene) to obtain a graft copolymer (B).
