titleOfInvention Production of aromatic polyester moldings
abstract PURPOSE: A specific aromatic polyester bearing terminal carboxyls is brought into contact with a bis-cyclic imino ether under melt processor and directly formed into a product whereby the titled molded products of polymer with increased molecular weight are obtained in a shortened time. n CONSTITUTION: A fiber-forming or film-forming aromatic polyester which has terminal carboxyls and is composed of the acid component mainly containing aromatic dicarboxylic acids and the glycol component mainly containing alkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol is brought into close contact with a bis cyclic imino-ether of the formula (X 1 , X 2 are 2W3C divalent hydrocarbon; R 1 , R 2 are H, monovalent hydrocarbon, or incorporate each other together with N and D to form 5W6-membered ring; D is divalent hydrocarbon which may contains heteroatoms; n is 0, 1) in a melt-processor at temperature over the melting point of the polyester, then directly in its melted state, converted into molded products. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
