PURPOSE: A biaxially oriented polyester bottle suitable for food, drink, etc., having improved gas barrier properties and dropping impact resistance, having a mouth part and a chest part made of a composition consisting of polyethylene terephthalate and a thermoplastic polymer and a bottom part made of poyethylene terephthalate, etc. n CONSTITUTION: A bottomed preform having a mouth part and a chest part of bottle, consisting of (A) a composition comprising A 1 : 95W50wt% polyethylene terephthalate having ≥0.6 intrinsic viscosity and A 2 : 5W50wt% thermoplastic polymer (e.g., olefin vinyl alcohol copolymer, etc.,) having ≤1×10 -13 (cc.cm/cm 2 .sec.cmHg) permeability constant of carbonic acid (30°C) and a bottom part comprising (B) a single layer of polyethylene terephthalate or a laminated structure consisting of a layer of the component A and a layer of a composition of the components A 1 and A 2 having a lower A 2 content than the component A, is blow molded and biaxially drawn, to give bottles. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
