titleOfInvention Production of polycarbonate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled dry polycarbonate from an organic solvent solution of polycarbonate by adding to said solution a specific amount of an organic phosphonite to prevent said dry polycarbonate from molelcular weight drop and discoloration. n CONSTITUTION: The objective dry polycarbonate can be obtained from an organic solvent solution of polycarbonate by removing the solvent and further expelling the residual solvent by heating. Prior to the above procedure, 0.0001W0.03 (pref. 0.0005W0.01pt.wt., per 100pts.wt. of said solution (pref. with a polycarbonate concentration 5W25wt%), of an organic phosphonite (e.g., diphenylbenzene phosphonite) is added to the solution. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
