abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled foam free of voids and shear lines, by reacting crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate containing 4,2'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a polyol, a catalyst and a foam stabilizer. n CONSTITUTION: Crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate containing 5W50wt%, preferably, 10W30wt% 4,2'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate is reacted with a polyol, a catalyst, a foam stabilizer and, optionally, other additives. By using the crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate containing 4,2'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate in the above reaction, the thickening of the reaction mixture during foaming can be controlled and further the compatibility of the crude diphenylmethane diisocyanate with the polyol can be increased. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
