abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R 1 WR 3 represent H, 1W20C alkyl, etc.; R 4 represents formula II or III (X is electron attractive group; lis 1 or 2; m and n are ≤3 integer)]. n EXAMPLE: 6-Octyl-6-[2'-hydroxy-5'-(phenylazo)benzyl]-1, 4, 8, 11-tetraoxacyclote tradecane. n USE: An extraction colorimetric reagent for metal ions and a liquid membrane transporting reagent having high selectivity for Li + . n PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by the formula R 5 -CH 2 Br (R 5 represents a group obtained by alkoxidating OH group of R 6 ) obtained by alkoxidating an OH group of an aromatic ring is reacted with a compound expressed by the formula R 1 CH(CO 2 Et) 2 in the presence of a basic catalyst and the obtained compound expressed by formula IV is reacted with a reducing agent. A compound expressed by formula VI (Ts represents toluenesulfonic acid group) is added to the resultant compound expressed by formula V and reduced to give a compound expressed by formula VII, which is then reacted with a diazonium salt having a group X in the aromatic ring. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
