titleOfInvention Method of synthesizing alkyldiaryl phosphate
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high yield, by reacting a phosphorus oxyhalide with an alkyl alcohol in a solvent such as benzene, teterachloroethane, etc., slightly dissolving hydrogen halides and then reacting the reaction product with an aqueous solution of an alkali metalic salt of aromatic alcohol. n CONSTITUTION: A phosphorus oxyhalide is reacted with an alkyl alcohol in a solvent slightly dissolving hydrogen halides, such as aromatic compound, e.g., benzene, toluene, aliphatic hydrocarbon, e.g., octane, dodecane, etc., halo genated compound, e.g., trichloroethane, tetrachloroethane, trichlorotri fluoroethane, etc., to give a phosphoric acid monoalkyl ester dihalide. Then, this reaction product is brought into contact with an alkali metallic salt of aromatic alcohol, to give a alkyldiaryl phosphate. A hydrogen halide produced as a by-product is easily removed and cooling is not required. n USE: A plasticizer for vinyl chloride resin or a lubricating agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
