titleOfInvention | Dispersion stabilizer for coal-water slurry |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a dispersant capable of providing a coal-water slurry which is excellent in flowability in a high concn. and shelf stability, by polymerizing (meth)acrylic acid in the presence of a thiol having a particular hydrocarbon group to obtain a polymer and dissolving the polymer in water or an aq. alkaline soln. n CONSTITUTION: A monomer component comprising (meth)acrylic acid and, if necessary, 50mol% or less of other monomer (e.g., maleic acid) is polymerized in the presence of a thiol having a 3W70C hydrocarbon group to obtain a polymer. The polymer is dissolved in water or an aq. alkaline soln. to obtain a polymer of the formula [wherein R is a 3W70C hydrocarbon group; P is a polymer comprising (meth)acrylic acid or its alkali (earth) metal or ammonium salt and having a degree of polymerization of 10W3,500; and n is 1W2]. 0.01W5.0wt% dispersion stabilizer contg. the aforesaid polymer as the effective ingredient is added to a water slurry contg. 70wt% coal powder having a particle size distribution such that 50wt% or more of the particles pass through a 200-mesh sieve. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
