titleOfInvention | Production of addition polymer of alkylene oxide |
abstract | PURPOSE: To produce an addition polymer of a phenolic compound and an alkylene oxide in high purity and yield without using the operations such as recrystallization at a low reaction temperature, by using an amine salt or quaternary ammonium salt as the catalyst in the addition polymerization reaction. n CONSTITUTION: The objective alkylene oxide addition polymer can be produced by carrying the addition polymerization reaction of (A) a phenolic compound (e.g. monobromophenol) with (B) an alkylene oxide (e.g. ethylene oxide) in the presence of (C) a catalyst consisting of an amine salt (e.g. trimethylamine hydrochloride) or a quaternary ammonium salt (e.g. tetramethyl ammonium chloride) (the amount of the catalyst is preferably 0.1W2.0mol% based on the phenolic compound) preferably at 60W100°C. The amount of the alkylene oxide is preferably 1W10mol per 1mol of the phenolic compound. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
