titleOfInvention Antiarteriosclerotic agent containing 2-aminomethylphenol derivative as active constituent
abstract PURPOSE: An antiarteriosclerotic agent, containing 2-aminomethyl-4-tert-butyl-6- propionylphenol or a nontoxic acid addition salt thereof as an active constituent and capable of powerfully preventing the evolution of arteriosclerotic lesion with very low toxicity. n CONSTITUTION: An antiarteriosclerotic agent containing 2-aminomethyl-4-tert- btyl-6-propionylphenol expressed by the formula or a nontoxic acid addition salt thereof, preferably hydrochloride as an active constituent. The above- mentioned compound and nontoxic salt thereof are novel type of arteriosclerotic agent having a mode of action of scarcely affecting the cholesterol value in blood and entirely different from that of the conventional antiarteriosclerotic agent having reduction of cholesterol as main action. The agent is useful for not only treating and preventing arteriosclerotic lesion but also cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage and sequelae thereof. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
