titleOfInvention Production of wear-resistant sintered parts
abstract PURPOSE: To produce wear-resistant sintered parts in which chromium carbide is uniformly distributed by using carbon for forming carbide in the form of an alloy with metal in the stage of producing the ferrous wear-resistant sintered parts contg. hard chromium carbide. n CONSTITUTION: The carbon for forming the carbide is used in the form of the powder of the alloy of an Fe-Cr alloy such as stainless steel contg. 10W25% Cr and C in the stage of producing the sintered parts contg. the hard chromium carbide and having the excellent wear resistance. Said powder is mixed with Fe-Ni-Cu-Mo alloy powder and 1W3% graphite powder as other raw materials for the sintered body and further zinc stearate as a lubricating material in the stage of forming the sintered body is added thereto, then the mixture is molded under the pressure to a desired shape. The powder molding formed by the pressure molding is sintered to produce the sintered body in which the hard Cr carbide is uniformly distributed. Since just a small amt. of the graphite having the small specific gravity is used, the uneven existence of the graphite in the raw material powder is obviated and the wear-resistant sintered body in which the Cr carbide exists uniformly is obtd. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
