abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance the activity of the catalytic component in fine pores, by supporting a catalytic component or enzymes by the wall surfaces of the fine pores of a water repellent porous carrier comprising a plate shaped, film like, tubular or pellet like molded body having open fine pores therein. n CONSTITUTION: A catalytically active component 5 is adhered to the surfaces of the base materials 6 constituting a carrier 3 and the constitutional base materials are connected by carrier constituting base materials 7 having water repellency. At this time, the carrier constituting base materials 7 connect the base materials 6 so as to be partially crosslinked to the surfaces of the catalytically active components 5 of adjacent carrier constituting materials 6. Therefore, open fine pores 2 are formed between the base materials 6, 7 and the exposed surfaces of the catalytically active components 5 are discontinuous and the water repellent carrier constituting base materials 7 are present therebetween.
