titleOfInvention | Determination of superoxide dismutase activity |
abstract | PURPOSE: To lower the blank value and its variation of a reagent and to improve the sensitivity and the linearity of a calibration line, by adding a maleimide (derivative) and, if necessary, a carbonyl compound to the reaction system. n CONSTITUTION: The activity of SOD (superoxide dismutase) existing in body fluid (e.g. serum) is determined by determining the amount of H 2 O 2 generating from superoxide anion by the action of SOD in the presence of an electron transfer material. In the above process, a maleimide (derivative) and, if necessary, a carbonyl compound are added to the reaction system. The absorbance is directly proportional to the SOD activity and the calibration line passes through the origin. Excellent quantitative analysis can be achieved by this process. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio |
