titleOfInvention Polyphenylene ether resin composition
abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which has proper Izod impact strength and dart impact strength and excellent chemical resistance and hardly forms silver streak during molding, consisting of a polyphenylene ether resin and a rubber-reinforced styrene resin. n CONSTITUTION: Rubber particles are treated under high shearing force to obtain a rubber-reinforced styrene resin (a) wherein the maximum of the volume fraction of rubber particle size is 1.5μ or below. Rubber particles are treated under uniform proper shearing force to obtain a rubber-reinforced styrene resin (b) wherein the maximum of the volume fraction of rubber particle size is 2W3μ and no particle having a particle size is 2W3μ and no particle having a particle size exceeding 3μ is contained. Components (a) and (b) are mixed in such a proportion as to give a ratio between the both max. values of 1/4W4/1, thus obtaining a mixture. 10W90pts.wt. polyphenylene ether resin having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.50W2.0 is kneaded with 90W10pts.wt. said mixture. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
