abstract | PURPOSE: To determine a calcium ion, simply by reacting a calcium ion with calmodulin to form a calcium calmodulin complex, activating a calmodulin- depending enzyme with the complex and measuring the enzymatic activity. n CONSTITUTION: A fixed amount of a calcium ion-containing test specimen is blended and reacted with a calmodulin-containing buffer solution. The reaction solution is reacted with a calmodulin depending enzyme and its substrate and a ratio of change of the reaction product to be detected is determined.
