titleOfInvention Production of optical product
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a surface having no clouding, etc. by putting an optical product into a reaction vessel, feeding a gaseous mixture composed of a satd. hydrocarbon and oxygen into the vessel and generating the thin film of the resultant reaction product by plasma polymn. on the surface in the stage of obtaining the optical product having the hydrophilic surface and having the excellent durability. n CONSTITUTION: One end of the reaction vessel 1 is connected to a vacuum pump and a coil 2 connected to a high-frequency power source 3 is wound to the small-diameter part at the other end. A supporting base 4 carrying the optical product S is disposed in the vessel 1. The gaseous mixture composed of the satd. hydrocarbon and oxygen is fed through a gas inlet 5 into the vessel. The resultant reaction product by the plasma polymn is thus generated in the vessel 1 and is deposited on the surface of the part S. Then the thin film having the excellent hydrophilicity is deposited on the surface of the part and the generation of the clouding by the sticking of water drops to the part in a gaseous phase or the sticking of foam in water is eliminated. Such part is suitable for a contact lens, etc. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1987,JPO&Japio
