abstract | PURPOSE: To provide the titled agent containing 1,1'-iminiodi(octamethylene) diguanidine, effective to prevent the termite damage and repel termite, maintaining the preventive effect for a long period, and safe to environmental pollution. n CONSTITUTION: The novel agent for preventing termite damage contains 1,1'- iminiodi(octamethylene)diguanidine of formula (X is various salts) (abbreviated as guazatine) in an amount of 0.5W80wt%, preferably 0.5W30wt%. When the preventive agent is applied to undamaged wood by coating, impregnation, injection, etc., the damage of termite can be prevented for a long period. For the wood damaged by termite, the agent is mixed with other rapidacting and non- residual insecticide and applied to the wood to effect the repelling of termite and to keep the wood from termite for a long period.
